America is Darth Vader Part 1

Good guys vs. Bad guys.

When I was a kid, everything was simple—there were good guys and there were bad guys. The good guys always win, and the bad guys eventually lose (after taking too long monologuing about their quest to destroy everything and take over the world, right?).

Ahhhh, the good old days. And the Americans were always the good guys and the Russians were the bad guys. Remember that?

It didn't matter what it was—the Space Race, technology, Star Wars, the Olympics, everything—it was always the Americans vs. the Russians, and we always won. We, the Americans, always won.

You know why—because we were the good guys.

Things aren't so simple anymore. I wish they were.

And here's the problem—the average citizen doesn't possess enough basic discernment to "chew the meat and spit out the bones," so most people have to take everything as a whole. Either something is ALL GOOD, or its ALL BAD. Why? Because we crave simplicity like that. I hope you're smarter than that.

You see, the problem is that real life isn't simple like that. Things, people, businesses, nations, and governments aren't ALL GOOD or ALL BAD. They're usually some good and some bad.

And human nature dictates that we highlight the good or the bad in something based on our own biases. In other words, if you want something to be good, you'll only recognize the good and you'll dismiss the bad. Same goes for if you want to believe something is bad.

So what about America? What is it? Is it good or is it bad? Do you possess enough intellectual honesty, objectivity, or discernment to answer that question properly?

Before I answer that question, let me tell you that I'm a die hard in the wool American who bleeds red, white, and blue when you cut me and I've got deep roots in this country that go back further than YOU. Yup, I can state that confidently, because I've only met one person in my life who could trace their family history in the USA further than I could. My family was here before their state in which they were born was even annexed in the 1800s. Basically, unless your family roots go back to the original 13 colonies, my family was here before yours. That was a long time ago. But you know what, honestly, it doesn't really matter.

So, is America good or bad? Are we the good guys? Are the Russians still the bad guys?

The Case for America Being Good:

  • Our founding documents extol the virtues of liberty and freedom.
  • Our forefathers sacrificed their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor to purchase our liberty.
  • America has excelled in innovation in essentially every industry on the planet.
  • We have amassed more wealth and technological advances in the shortest amount of time possible than any other nation in history.
  • We have not used our military superiority for territorial gain.
  • We give more charitably through private charities and religious missions work than any other nation.
  • Untold numbers of people have achieved their wildest dreams because of the environment of freedom and liberty available here.

The Case for America Being Bad:

  • We disregard our own Constitution and reject the rule of law.
  • We throw people in jail and let them rot for not paying taxes while criminals roam the streets.
  • We deny our own history in our public schools in the name of political correctness.
  • We now force people to act contrary to their own conscious or religious belief.
  • We no longer value life as sacred.
  • We shrug off our own veterans who sacrificed their lives for our way of life.
  • We spy on our own people without warrant or cause.
  • We've amassed the highest debt ever recorded in history and dump our debts on our own children.
  • We manipulate the banking system to favor a privileged elite.
  • We continually fund undeclared wars while drugging our own soldiers.
  • We overload our children with drugs, we pay for criminal's sex changes, we silence teachers who instruct about values and morals, we ban prayer, and we disrespect the elderly.
  • But, we disallow American flags in our neighborhoods, we stop little kids from having lemonade stands without permits, we don't allow people to drink raw milk, or use certain vitamin supplements, and we're not even allowed to carry our own money without being questioned by authorities.

Truly the list here goes on and on and time or space wouldn't allow for me to elaborate. But you know the stories. I only list a few to help jog your memory.

So what are we? Are we the good guys? Or are we the bad guys? There is enough evidence to make BOTH cases!

But, I believe we are currently caught in a cultural and historical war to which the Real America will ultimately be victorious. America is like the protagonist in a movie who starts off good, then gets seduced by the Dark Side, and then turns good again. Like Darth Vader.

Funny analogy, sure. But it's true. And I will explain to you how and why I know beyond the shadow of a doubt that America's best days are still ahead. But, the explanation is not what you think. It's not what you expect. And it may not be what you want to hear. But you will not be able to resist the axiomatic nature of my explanation. You can read it here - America is Darth Vader Part 2.
